Work
Senior User Experience Prototyper - Motional
2021 - 2024 // Boston, MA
Working on the future of autonomous vehicles raises many new questions for designers. For the Gen2 vehicle team, I designed and built functional prototypes for a wide range of UX hardware including LED lighting, automotive HMI, and networked prototype systems. Additionally I worked with the product team and Hyundai partners to design, prototype, and research the new specifications and features for the upcoming Gen3 vehicle. This role required cross-functional team collaboration with different departments such as engineering, regulatory, product teams in order to ensure regulatory compliance to all international automotive regulations.
Instructor - University of Colorado ATLAS Institute
2020 // Boulder, CO
I taught a course titled Design Process. This was an undergraduate class for students in the design concentration at the ATLAS Institute at The University of Colorado Boulder. This was the spring of 2020, and I adapted the course mid-semester to be taught remotely during the emergence of Zoom school.
Instructor - Carnegie Mellon School of Design
2012 - 2019 // Pittsburgh, PA
I worked as a generalist adjunct, teaching a range of disciplines and students at Carnegie Mellon University School of Design. I started teaching pre-college while I was still a student, and following graduation was asked to come back and teach the primary undergraduate senior studio, followed by a bio design class, a masters level interaction design lab, and finally a product design course.

Clients include Deeplocal, MET Laboratories, Carnegie Mellon University and Virginia Tech University. Projects are confidential, references available upon request.
Experience designer - The Franklin Institute
2016 - 2017 // Philadelphia PA
As an experience designer at the Franklin Institute I designed and built interactive experiences that inspire a passion for learning about science and technology. This role included the conceptual design of interactive museum exhibits, the industrial design and prototype testing of individual interactive elements, and then working with contract manufacturers to build and install the exhibits. These exhibits experienced over one million children interacting with them on a yearly basis, and required adherence to strict safety regulations and durability requirements.
Co-Founder - Project Aura LLC
2011 - 2015 // Pittsburgh PA
Co-founder of a hardware startup designing and developing a bicycle lighting system. It illuminates the wheels of your bicycle, increases your visual presence on the roadway and better communicates to drivers your presence and behavior. In collaboration with Jonathan Ota we conceptualized and designed the product, and then founded a start-up to continue development and work towards the marketing and manufacture of the product.
Exhibit Designer - Mattress Factory Museum of Art
2015 // Pittsburgh PA
Designed and fabricated the exhibit "Living Things" in collaboration with Jacob Douenias, which consists of three vignettes of a home environment that actively cultivate spirulina algae. It explores a near future where humans live symbiotically with these beneficial microorganisms.
Fortnight Intern - IDEO
2015 // Chicago IL
I was invited to come to IDEO's Chicago office for a residency internship called Fortnight. I was given free reign to research or design anything for those two weeks, utilizing the resources at IDEO.
3D Lab Monitor - Carnegie Mellon University
2012 - 2013 // Pittsburgh PA
Shop monitor for the School of Design 3D shop. It was my job to organize the shop and maintain the equipment, and make sure students left the shop with the same number of fingers they brought - 100% success rate.
Teaching Assistant - Carnegie Mellon University
2013 // Pittsburgh PA
I TA'd the course Experimental Form for professor Mark Baskinger. I assisted with in class workshops and evaluations and met with students outside of class to critique and help them with their self guided projects.
Industrial Design Intern - ECCO Design
2011 // New York NY
As an intern at ECCO design I assisted in all stages of product development such as ideation, sketching, and physical and digital prototyping.
Industrial Design Intern - Direct Dimensions
2010 // Baltimore MD
Direct Dimensions specializes in 3d scanning services. I interned with a team developing a full color 3d facial scanning platform. I worked on a number of features, but my main role was the development of the lighting configuration for the cameras.
